Light Medicine
Light Medicine is a unique system of healing the body by focusing a colored light pen on acupuncture and other points on the skin to energize powerful healing impulses in our physical and energetic bodies. The work is based on the visionary teachings of Peter Mandel and his work in Esogetic Colorpuncture™ Pathologies and symptoms occur when trauma and emotional stress are unresolved over a long period of time; they become the body's way of expressing “dis-ease”. Light Medicine addresses the non-physical or emotional origins of illness as well as its physical symptoms by using fast-moving light rays to unblock and release emotional trauma and blocked soul information, which often underlies illness.
Patients report not only changes in their symptoms, but also deeply improved emotional outlook and a clearer sense of life direction. Specific treatments can be focused on conflict resolution, mother/father issues, prenatal therapies, detoxification, hormonal balancing and dream therapy,
to name a few. Sound therapy tapes can also be used in conjunction with specific treatments or
GDV Electrophotonic Analysis

Mary's GDV Camera
GDV Electrophotonics (also known as GDV Kirlian Analysis) is a diagnostic means of determining energy patterns and disturbances around the acupuncture meridians, which originate on the fingers and toes. The emissions are represented via the digital photo of the fingers, which is controlled via an extensive software package which includes the GDV Diagram, the GDV Energy Field, and the GDV Chakras.
The photos are used in Light Medicine diagnostics as a primary tool for viewing energetic disturbances that can result in physical and emotional symptoms.
Disease pathologies can be recognized up to one year before they actually manifest in the body. Photos are generally taken prior to treatment, and after each session. The software generates mathematical averages of the intensity of the GDV Gas Visualization Discharge (GDV). The left side of the photo represents birth through age 12, (the past or implicit) as well as the right brain and the right side shows age 24-72 or the explicit, which relates to the present day, and the left brain. Further, photos are categorized into 3 pots of energy disturbances, which includes the Endocrine (fight or flight mode), Toxic, (or Reactive mode), and Degenerative, where cellular changes occur.
The information obtained from these photos can be used to formulate treatment plans and gather statistical data for other modalities as well, including Allopathic medical research, Energy Medicine, Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, and Integrative Medicine, to name a few. Mary is also a distributor for Dr. Korotkov's GDV cameras & software.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is part of an ancient Chinese system of natural medicine, known as Traditional Chinese Medicine or TCM. TCM is the world’s oldest continually practiced professional medicine, and is based upon the principle that any symptom that manifests in the body is related to a larger overall pattern of disharmony. This pattern is the result of an imbalance of the body’s organic, energetic, and natural activity, which can be due to stress, diet, excessive physical activity, environmental influences, or constitutional deficiencies, to name a few. Acupuncture treatments address both the body and mind, as the emotions directly affect the physical symptoms that manifest in the body. Hundreds of acupuncture points are located on the body along energy pathways known as meridians or channels, which correspond directly to a specific vital organ. When any of these acupuncture points are blocked or congested, the result is an “imbalance” or “dis-ease”.
Acupuncture works by opening up the flow of vital energy or Qi, also known as “Chi”, thereby restoring health to the body. When the Qi is flowing properly through the meridian pathways, all of the body’s systems operate in a rhythmic and harmonious way.
Mary uses a combination of Classical Chinese Acupuncture, and Meridian Acupuncture Trigger Point Release Therapy. An initial consultation for an acupuncture treatment requires up to an hour and a half, during which a patient is thoroughly evaluated and a complete medical history is taken.
The patient is examined, the pulses are taken and the tongue is observed. During an acupuncture treatment, fine, sterile, disposable needles are inserted into specific acupuncture points to stimulate the energy that is either blocked or congested. The goal of this process is the activation of the patient’s Qi, which allows the body to balance and heal itself. Each follow-up treatment lasts over an hour.
Chinese Herbology
Herbal Medicine is another ancient modality or treatment method within TCM. During an herbal consultation, the patient is evaluated for individual patterns of disharmony as well as disease manifestations and then receives a customized herbal formula designed to treat both the symptoms and the disease.
The formula can be written for raw, liquid, or encapsulated herbs. Mary maintains a liquid and encapsulated herbal pharmacy at Healing Hands. She uses the Evergreen line of encapsulations due to their superior formulations and high rate of patient compliance.
Flower Essences
Flower Essences are subtle liquid extracts made from the petals of flowers, generally taken in oral form, which are used to address profound issues of emotional well-being, spiritual development, and mind-body health. Each flower addresses a different aspect of the human psyche, including fear, anger, and grief. Essences work due to the energetic life forces derived from the flowers that mirror the human personality. Like homeopathics, flower essences are vibrational in nature. Flower Essences work through the various human energy fields, which in turn affect mental, emotional and physical well being.
Mary prepares individualized formulas for patients which help emotions to resolve gently.
Up to seven essences are mixed with a base of vegetable glycerin and spring water, and taken orally via dropper several times per day. Mary uses North American essences from the Flower Essence Society, and has been working with their newest line called “Range of Light”.
The essences are especially useful for patients who may be too sensitive for herbal remedies, such as the elderly or children, or patients who are taking medication which could interact with other herbal remedies.
Essential Oils
Essential Oils are aromatic, volatile liquids distilled from shrubs, trees, flowers, roots, bushes and seeds. For many centuries essential oils and other aromatics were used in religious rituals, for the treatment of illness, and other physical and spiritual needs. Essential Oils were revered in ancient times, and many references to their use can be found in the Bible, such as Frankincense and Myrrh. They have been used medicinally to kill viruses, fungi, and other pathogens.
Mary has used essential oils in practice for many years and is a distributor for Young Living Essential Oils. Young Living provides high quality, therapeutic grade single oils and blends which have been graded according to AFNOR standards.
She sometimes uses the oils topically on acupuncture and Vita-flex points on her patients during treatment. She may provide patients with custom-blended inhalers of the appropriate essential oils.
