TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is part of an ancient Chinese system
of natural medicine, known as Traditional Chinese Medicine
or TCM. TCM is the world’s oldest continually practiced
professional medicine, and is based upon the principle that
any symptom that manifests in the body is related to a larger
overall pattern of disharmony. This pattern is the result
of an imbalance of the body’s organic, energetic, and natural
activity, which can be due to stress, diet, excessive physical
activity, environmental influences, or constitutional deficiencies,
to name a few. Acupuncture treatments address both the body
and mind, as the emotions directly affect the physical symptoms
that manifest in the body. Hundreds of acupuncture points
are located on the body along energy pathways known as meridians
or channels, which correspond directly to a specific vital
organ. When any of these acupuncture points are blocked
or congested, the result is an “imbalance” or “disease”.
Acupuncture works by opening up the flow of vital energy
or Qi, also known as “Chi”, thereby restoring health to
the body. When the Qi is flowing properly through the meridian
pathways, all of the body’s systems operate in a rhythmic
and harmonious way. Mary uses a combination of Classical
Chinese Acupuncture, and Meridian Acupuncture Trigger Point
Release Therapy. An initial consultation for an acupuncture
treatment requires up to an hour and one half of time during
which a patient is thoroughly evaluated and a complete medical
history is taken. The patient is examined, the pulses are
taken and the tongue is observed. During an acupuncture
treatment, fine, sterile, disposable needles are inserted
into specific acupuncture points to stimulate the energy
that is either blocked or congested. The goal of this process
is the activation of the patient’s Qi, which allows the
body to balance and heal itself. Each follow-up treatment
lasts between 45 minutes and one hour.
Chinese
Herbology
Herbal
Medicine is another modality or treatment method within
TCM. During an herbal consultation, the patient is evaluated
for individual patterns of disharmony as well as disease
manifestation and then receives a customized herbal formula
designed to treat both the symptoms and the disease. The
formula can be written for raw, liquid, or encapsulated
herbs. Mary maintains a liquid and powder herbal pharmacy
at Healing Hands.
PSYCHOSPIRITUAL HEALING
Focused on
treating and resolving emotional and spiritual conflict
via Esogetic Colorpuncture™, Kirlian Photography, Flower
Essence Consultations, Dream Therapy, and Sound Therapy.
Esogetic
Colorpuncture™
Esogetic Colorpuncture™ is a unique system of
healing the body by focusing colored light on acupuncture
and other points on the skin to energize powerful healing
impulses in our physical and energetic bodies. Colorpuncture
addresses the non-physical or emotional origins of illness
as well as its physical symptoms by using fast-moving light
rays to unblock and release emotional trauma and blocked
soul information, which often underlies illness. Patients
report not only changes in their symptoms, but also deeply
improved emotional outlook and a clearer sense of life direction.
Specific treatments can be focused on detoxification, dream
zone therapy, mother/father issues, and prenatal therapies,
to name a few. Esogetic Sound therapy tapes can also be
used in conjunction with specific treatments or as an adjunctive
therapy.

Kirlian Photography or Energy
Emission Analysis (EEA)
Kirlian Photography is a diagnostic means
of determining energy patterns and disturbances around the
acupuncture meridians. The photos are used in Esogetic Colorpuncture™
as the primary diagnostic tool for viewing energetic disturbances
that can produce physical and emotional symptoms. Disease
manifestations can be recognized up to one year before they
actually manifest in the body. A high voltage charge applied
across a dielectric plate captures the energetic imprint
of the fingers and toes, where the acupuncture meridians
begin. The information obtained from these photos can be
used to formulate treatment plans for many modalities, including
Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, and Allopathic medicine,
to name a few.

Flower Essences
Flower
Essences are subtle liquid extracts made from the petals
of flowers, generally taken in oral form, which are used
to address profound issues of emotional well-being, spiritual
development, and mind-body health. Each flower addresses
a different aspect of the human psyche, including fear,
anger, and grief. Essences work due to the energetic life
forces derived from the flowers that mirror the human personality.
Like homeopathics, flower essences are vibrational in nature.
Flower Essences work through the various human energy fields,
which in turn affect mental, emotional and physical well
being.
